Turning over a new leaf

I was curious what the actual definition of the phrase “turning over a new leaf” was. So I looked it up! According to Wikipedia it means: “to start behaving in a different way”. Well, that’s exactly what I’m doing today! I’m going to stop neglecting my camera and start shooting daily again. I have decided to start another 365 project where I take a photo a day for a year. I did this back in 2010 and was able to make it through to the end. It was a huge accomplishment for me and I grew leaps and bounds in my photography that year.  Since then I have missed picking up my camera every day and capturing the little things of each day.  I have also missed shooting more intentionally, giving myself daily challenges with concepts I want to work on.

I tried a 365 project last year, but couldn’t keep up with it. I think I lasted a month is all! But with the support of my photography girlfriends Laurie, Courtney and Allison who are doing it with me, as well as anyone else who would like to follow along and/or join me, I am bound and determined to make it a success!

To make it easier for me to “turn over a new leaf” I am setting no rules. I don’t have to post every day. I don’t have to use my nice camera. Iphone will have to do some days! I may not post every day, but I will shoot everyday and post later on those days when I can’t get to my computer. I may or may not journal with each photo. Depends on what time I have!

So here goes…

Courtney! I’m so sorry I spelled your name wrong. And how many times a day do I see your name? I am spacing out lately like crazy! Will you let me know if you get this reply through email?ReplyCancel

Why is my name so fancy? Bc of FB maybe since there is no other reason my maiden name would be in there? lolReplyCancel

Laurie, I was messing with my comments section yesterday. I decided to take FB comments off because it looks messy. I was changing fonts and sizes so everything is screwy. My brain in fried trying to get it all to work!ReplyCancel

Laurie, yay glad it worked and happy you got yours done! I’m still working on a couple of things. But my blog is always a work in progress! So did you subscribe to my post or did you just receive my reply because of the replyme plugin? Trying to decide if that plugin is working. I would rather people get my reply regardless whether or not they check the subscribe box.ReplyCancel
