We were lucky enough to have family come from Logan, UT and Arizona to join us for Thanksgiving this year. Among them, Ryan’s 90 year old grandfather. He is in such good health for his age and his mind is sound. I can only hope I will be in that kind of shape when I’m 90! While everyone went to the movies after we ate Thanksgiving dinner, my 2 yr. old and him had a sweet little moment together. This is one of those images that literally brought me to tears. Something about the old, wrinkled hands contrasted with little baby hands (first image). And the fact that I know little K’s great grandfather won’t be on this earth too much longer. We love him so much. He’s always so happy and wonderful to be around. A lot of people get grumpy the older they get. Not this guy! We are so grateful for his influence and positive spirit in our lives.
We also did something different this year as far as food goes. We ordered our whole Thanksgiving meal from our local grocery store! No cooking meant we were able to enjoy the day a little more and not have to slave away. We had heard that they made a great dinner and it was pretty much the same cost if we were to make it all ourselves. We specified a time for them to have it warm and ready and we picked it up at that time. The turkey was super moist and delicious! The only thing we made was a green salad to go along with it. We ate, had very little clean up, then headed to the movies.
