A Special Tribute

The school that my kids attend put on a beautiful Veteran’s Day assembly on Friday. We invited my father-in-law. He was all dressed up in his military suit, looking so handsome and proud. I was excited to get some pictures of him since we don’t ever get to see him in his suit.

I am so grateful for those who have served…for all the sacrifices they have made for our country. I have several friends who are military wives. They deserve an equal amount of recognition in my opinion. Soooo many sacrifices are made by these incredible women as they keep their families together despite the absence of their husbands.

I got all teary-eyed as the entire student body, Veterans, and their families sang the National Anthem. I don’t know what was making me so emotional! Probably a combination of the acoustics in the gym (the singing sounded angelic), the men in uniforms, and the way the sweet children sang with smiles on their faces and pride/love in their hearts.
